Analysis of casing stress during multistage fracturing of shale gas horizontal wells considering thermo‐hydro‐mechanical coupling

During the multistage fracturing of shale gas horizontal wells, casing damage frequently occurs, making it essential to evaluate stress and deformation. This paper establishes a mathematical model thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling finite element casing-cement sheath-formation (CCF). examines effects temperature, thickness, nonuniform in situ stress, mechanical properties cement sheath, treating pressure on deformation CCF. Finally, study investigates variation local at heel from toe heel. The results show that low temperature CCF, high elastic modulus small pressure, large can exacerbate stress. After pumping off, its nonuniformity near gradually increased, effective increases compared with process. As stages increase, increases, preferentially damages. provide theoretical basis guidance for maintaining wellbore integrity preventing wells.
